Duikerfontein Vine Nursery is a plant improvement organisation with a singular focus on virus-free plant material that has a high phytosanitary status and is compliant with the rules and regulations for certified plant material. This unique nursery dedicates itself to the meticulous nurturing and development of high-quality grafted vines and rootstocks suitable for grafting. Duikerfontein places its entire emphasis on the agricultural aspect, ensuring the vines’ health and vitality from the ground up.
Our History
Nestled just a few kilometres outside Piketberg in the Western Cape of South Africa, the Duikerfontein Vine Nursery stands as a testament to the perfect synergy of nature and meticulous cultivation practices. Here, with exceptional water quality and ideal weather conditions, our vines flourish, boasting unparalleled health and vitality.
Founded in 2003, Freddie and Flaffie de la Querra began with a modest beginning of 450,000 grafted vines. Duikerfontein Vine Nursery has since burgeoned into a cornerstone of excellence in the industry. Today, our nursery proudly produces over 3 million grafted plants annually, encompassing a diverse array of wine, table, and raisin grapes.
Our growth and success are reflected in more than just numbers, but also in our unwavering commitment to quality and sustainability. With a carefully crafted soil rotation system spanning 5-6 years, we ensure disease-free vines and foster the healthiest rootstocks possible.
